Hunter Valley Wedding Photography and Newcastle Wedding Photography

I love Wedding Photography - but it can be a big day - and the preparation prior to the day is always worth it. The meetings, the emails, the vision boards - it all comes together with how you'd like to day to go ahead.

From my own Wedding day, I recommend:

  • A singular bridesmaid that is a Type-A person, and the rest who will fall into line and can follow up on direction.

  • An excellent Husband who organises and plans everything for you.

  • Working with Vendors who have worked together before - there is a rythm and resepct that you can feel in the air, and it keeps the day running smoothly.

  • Doing your research on locations and areas that you'd like to have your Wedding and Honeymoon.

  • Budgeting for the whole experience, Wedding + Honeymoon and see where you really want to be spending money and where you'd like to be saving.

  • Pay for your bridesmaids Hair and Makeup, and they can cover the dress (as long as budget has been discussed previously. If their budget is $150, and you want them in a $400 dress, you cover the $250 extra - it's your day - you pay).

  • People REALLY LOVED THE FOOD from my wedding, and we didn't need to go that extravagant, a well-prepared food truck who could cover the day and number of guests arrived, people could pick exactly what they wanted (gluten/vegan/lactose intolerent options all available) - and they LOVED IT. Went back for seconds as well. This way dietaries were covered, people could choose their own portions, food wasn't wasted - and we only paid $25 per head, rather than $220 per head that you pay at some places. We wanted to save there (and still provide quality) so that we could afford a videographer.

  • Our venue was free because it was a dressed up caravan park - fairy lights and a 1 minute walk to the beach. We liked this - because we were big on safety with drunk guests, we didn't want them getting in cars or crossing a road, so accomidation on site with the caravan park was perfect. Also free venue meant we could spend more on the Honeymoon. Double Win!

As a photographer:

  • I need to know your run sheet for the day, and shot list.

  • I want to make sure that in the shot list, you have written "Photo with Granny", so that I know to take that shot, so that you get it delivered once all the photos are done.

  • It's important to note if you just need me for Ceremony, Ceremony + Reception, or the whole day.

  • I'd also like to know some of the other vendors that are working the day in case I have worked with them before.

  • I'd love to know your ideal turn around time, and if you're looking for prints like canvases as well.

I'll only ever share photos if I have your premission to do so - and I don't charge a penalty for keeping your images private (I never have, but I have heard of others doing it before).

I like to have fun. Fun + Wholesome + Premium. That's how I like to roll with the day.

Please let me know if you have any specific requests, or anything specific that you need edited as well.

I have photographed weddings across Newcastle, The Hunter and Central Coast as well.

And I'd love to be a part of your day!

Thank you

Katelyn
